Kacie Grenon and her band headed to Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

Local Teens Earn Semi-Final Spot at Live Nation’s High School Rock Off at Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland, OH

Rochester, NH - December, 18, 2018

Sixteen-year-old New Hampshire resident Kacie Grenon and her band will be traveling to Cleveland, OH to compete on January 19, 2019 in a Live Nation sponsored nationwide High School Rock Off to be held at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Led by Grenon, a VLACS student, on vocals and rhythm guitar, the four-member alt-rock band consists of fellow New Hampshire-based high school students: lead guitarist - Nick Turgeon (St. Thomas Aquinas - Dover), drummer - Zachary Stone (Merrimack), and bassist/keyboardist - Spencer Gregory (St. Thomas Aquinas - Dover).

A total of 36 acts from across the country were selected to compete in the 2019 High School Rock Off semi-final rounds. Grenon and her band earned a spot through ReverbNation, which placed 5 artists from around the country. Each semi-final round will award 4 bands the opportunity to compete in a Final Exam on February 16, 2019. The winner receives $1,000 prize and $250 for one of their high school music departments.

“We are super excited and honored because so many legendary artists have played here and their careers are showcased inside,” says Grenon. The band is working on new original music and are working towards their goal of becoming an opening band for a nationally touring act. Grenon went on to say that earning a spot in the Rock Off validates to them that they can compete on a national level.

The band is seeking donations from their local communities to help cover some of their out-of-pocket travel and accommodation expenses. See www.kaciegrenon.com/rockoff for donation information.
